Five Tips to Stay Fit

Being in shape is satisfactory. Isn’t it? What you will enjoy the most is a good, stable, and healthy body that is in a good shape too. 

Attaining a healthy and fit body is not impossible. In fact, it’s not that difficult at all that you are thinking of it. Just follow these 5 simple tips to stay fit. Make them your habits or a lifestyle, you will notice positive changes in your body within days.

Exercise daily, and Enjoy it!

Make a habit of workout at least for half an hour. Start doing it for minutes then stretch the time to at least half an hour gradually. Go for a walk, jog, or do some simple stretches at home, but do it regularly. Even If you get bored with the same everyday workout, try finding new ways, but do not quit on it.

If you don’t enjoy your workout, then it doesn’t mean you are not consistent, maybe that exercise doesn’t suit you. Not everyone is a treadmill person, try different exercises and you will find your favorite one soon.

The internet is full of different exercises from simple to hard and for healthy people or for people with any illness. Just know your body and go for the one you enjoy the most. 

People say you can burn your calories by doing everyday chores, so you don’t need to exercise. Do you think it is that much easy? Exercising means you must sweat, your pulse and heart rate must increase along with your breathing rate. Can you increase your heart rate while gardening? Well, I don’t think so. 

Indulging in a healthy exercise routine will bring positivity, freshness, and healing in your life. Even 30 minutes of exercise daily will:

  • Help to balance your hormones
  • Manage your stress and anxiety
  • Manage your body weight to the best
  • Help you to get rid of tiredness, fatigue, stagnant health and frustration

 

Be sure to make a proper routine of your workout, and yes, don’t forget to enjoy it!

Portion Control 

Portion control means selecting a healthy amount of food with all essential nutrients. Portion control not only prevents you from overeating but it also helps you to digest your food easily. 

Moreover, it will lead you towards a maintained and healthy weight.

People who do not know about the portion sizes tend to overindulge their food. Resulting in getting overweight and obesity-related diseases.

Controlling your portion is not rocket science. Yet you need to be consistent. Here are a few tips that would help you a lot to reach your destination of a healthy lifestyle.

  • Split your large 3 meals into 6 smaller meals a day.
  • Use smaller dinnerware to have your meals.
  • Make your plate your serving guide.
  • While dining out, ask for half of the serving.
  • For raw vegetables and fruits, use your hand as a portion guide, like a fruit that is of the size of your palm.
  • Start your meals with a glass of water.
  • Eat slowly.
  • Don’t eat straight from the food container.

 

Know What you Eat

Along with portion control, you must know what food are you going to eat. Its nutritional facts, its type (protein, carbs, or fats), and obviously the amount you eat.

According to the daily calorie intake chart, you must take all the essential nutrients in a day. Give a greater portion of your meals to vegetables ( a full bowl of salad) and the smaller to fats (only half or one teaspoon). 

Additionally, reduce the carbs (bread, potato, rice, etc.) intake and increase your protein (eggs, chicken, pulses) intake. Here again, go for the lean fat protein like chicken or fish. Or take your protein from lentils and pulses instead.

Throw out all the packaged, canned, junk, fried, and processed food along with candies and high-caloric snacks from your life. Cutting off all these will let you achieve the milestones sooner than you think. 

Moreover, add dairy items (milk, curd, cottage cheese, etc.) in your everyday diet as well.

Stay Hydrated

Drink water and stay hydrated. It will boost your metabolism, clean the toxins from your body, and will act as an appetite suppressant for your body. 

The more water you drink, the more it will help your body to stop water retaining leading you to reduce your water weight.

To encourage weight loss and to keep yourself hydrated, follow the expert’s “8×8” rule. Which means you should drink 8-8 ounce of glasses per day. You may need to drink more if you live in a warmer region or you do intense workouts. 

Drinking the right amount at the right time is also significant in weight loss. Right time refers to a controlled and expert’s recommended amount whereas at the right time means when you should have a glass of water and when you should not!

  • Make a habit to drink always before starting your meals
  • Don’t drink in between or right after a meal.
  • Replace your sugary and carbonated drinks with water.
  • Drink more during day time and less at night times.

A Good 8 Hours Sleep

No matter you work at night shifts or day, a good 8 hours sleep is a must to attain good health. Either physical or emotional wellbeing. 

Though there’s no alternate of night’s sleep, still completing your sleep-wake cycle is far more important when it comes to having 8 hours of sleep.

Along with a good night’s sleep,  don’t ignore power naps at day time. After a long tiring day, a nap even for ten minutes can make you feel fresh. However, your nap should not be longer than thirty minutes.
